The product has to be used o dry skin. If the Brightening Instant Exfoliator is applied on damp skin, effectiveness will be very much diminished because the gel texture will transforms right away into milk then into water, letting exfoliating particles flow away. It's because of the very special gel texture that we advise to apply in on dry skin.
